"I am very picky when it comes to my hair. I honestly considered paying for my home-based hairstylist to fly down for the wedding. It was very important for me to feel comfortable about my wedding hairstyle so I wanted to meet her in person for a hair trial. I scheduled a trial w/her in May of 2009 (my first scouting visit). I arrived 7 days before my wedding and met her at her apt. in Playa del Carmen. She showed me her private portfolio and I, again, shared my hair inspiration photos. Doranna curled my hair and did 3 updos in less than one hour. On the day of the wedding I determined I did not want to wear my veil (the boutique included it in the price of my gown) as I decided it would only fly into my guests faces and distract them, and the hairstyle was more important anyway (I did not want my hairstyle choices to be limited by the veil). Doranna used Italian hair products (Chi) to protect and add shine to my hair and to hold my hairstyle. She used a curling iron and created bountiful curls which were pinned and allowed to set. I then had my makeup applied by Lili. Doranna then finished my hair by taking small sections of hair and masterfully twisting and turning each piece in the right place, creating texture and definition. Doranna is a genius. I had an initial "consultation" hair style with Doranna a few months before my wedding, so I knew she had skill, but what she pulled off for my wedding day blew me away!  I gave Doranna my "hair inspiration," which was a photo of a celebrity (Sarah Jessica Parker), whose hair probably took hours to perfect.  I bought a bunch of hair extensions, but she's so good, she only used one small piece!  Doranna pulled it off to perfection in less than half an hour.  It was perfect, exactly what I wanted, and it lasted all night into the next day!!!  Also, 3 of my bridesmaids had initially decided that they weren't going to spend the money to get their hair done by Doranna, but once they saw her transform my hair and the other bridesmaids, they got their hair done too!  Plus, she is such a joy to work with - wonderful, positive, and supportive attitude.  We all had so much fun getting ready with her.

"If you want to look stunning and feel like a model from Bride Magazine, you have to hire Doranna to style your hair for your wedding!  She is amazing.  I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and it’s all because of how perfect my hair and make-up turned out because of Doranna. First, I have to say Doranna is the sweetest, most patient person you could ever meet.   You’ll love her!   She will come to your resort or hotel for the hair trial and to do your hair the day of the wedding.  I met with her the day before my wedding to do a trial of a few different styles, because I wasn’t sure which style would look best on me.  I highly recommend doing a trial, so the day of the wedding she knows exactly what to do, so you don’t waste time.  Bring a camera with you to the trial so she can take photos to help you pick the style you love the most.   I brought a couple of magazine photos of bride’s hairstyles I liked the most. The first one she tried to re-create wasn’t working on me.   It was complicated.  I brought fake hair extensions to add to my hair (my hair is baby fine), and she loved the challenge.  She re-created the hairstyle in the magazine photo perfectly, but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted and didn’t fit my personality.   When I told her that the hairstyle wasn’t for me, she didn’t take it personally.  She said that she would keep trying until I am happy.  Great service!  Then I told her I wanted to try something different with my hair on the side with white side flowers.  I let her be creative and it was the best thing I ever did.  She created the perfect wedding hairstyle for me.  She made my hair look so full, yet elegant and romantic.  It felt so right and looked so beautiful!! The great thing about Doranna is that she is able to whip up these stunning hair designs in less than 15 minutes…unbelievable!  They look so natural (not over hair sprayed), yet the hairstyle stayed in place throughout the full wedding.  I danced a lot and did a dramatic tango for my first dance, yet my hair did not move.  Yet, everyone complimented me on how natural and beautiful my hair looked.  They all said that I look like a model!  What a compliment and it’s all because of Doranna! I also recommend that you use her make-up person.  She did a great job on my make-up and the bridesmaid’s makeup.  The make-up artist did not put too much or too little make-up on. It looked very natural and photographed so well! My bridesmaids looked amazing too! I have very curly hair that can be difficult to style, and I booked Doranna over email having never met her, so at first I was a little nervous---but she turned out to be fabulous! I did a trial with her at her home in Playa a few days before the wedding. This made me feel more comfortable and gave us a chance to get to know each other. She did a great job on my hair and it looked very similar to the picture I sent her. She is also a really pleasant person so it was nice having her around all day while we were getting ready for the wedding. She was always on time, and always responded to emails. Initially we scheduled for her to do my hair and a few of my bridesmaids' hair. On the day of the wedding more of my bridesmaids decided they wanted their hair done when they saw what a great job she was doing and she found time to do everyone's hair.
